Biloxi and New Orleans tour

Will be taking a bus tour to Biloxi and New Orleans next week. One activity is a Jazz Cruise aboard the SS Natchez Steamboat. Does anyone know if this is a dreee-up affair? Or is it jeans/shorts type of dress?
Also, how's the weather there in mid-September? I thought it would be hot and humid. We'll be indoors a lot but I'd still like to know what to expect. Thanks

Just re-read my message above and realized I typed dress-up incorrectly. I apologize!

This is just my opinion, but the Natchez is NOT worth the money. You can ride the Canal Street Ferry from Canal Street (aquarium/casino area) to Algiers Point and back for free! Same effect...nice river feel and only 30 minutes of your vacation spent doing it.

It IS VERRRRRRY hot and humid in both Biloxi and NO at this time of year. You can wear just about anything that's comfortable since most places are casual. I've never been on the Natchez so I don't know about that but I'd guess shorts or jeans are okay.

Expect it to be hot in both New Orleans and Biloxi. I worked there one summer during college years and couldn't wait to get away from the heat.
That jazz cruise sounds llike a fine thing to do; have fun but carry a fan.
