Big Island-Where to Stay?????
I am planning a trip to the BI for next Oct/Nov. How about some condo reccomendations?? I'm not sure whether to stay in Kona or Hilo. Want to do the Volcano National Park. Just going to spend a few days there, and want to sightsee & relax!! I heard about somewhere near the Park that was pretty nice, but have forgotten the name. Cabins? It is only 2 or 3 miles outside the park. Any other info will be great too!!! Thank you!!!

You may be thinking of the Kilauea Lodge or the Hale Ohia Cottages. The Kilauea Lodge also has one of the best restaurants on the island. If you are hiking to see the lava after dark, be sure to wear sturdy shoes, long pants and take a flashlight. Have a great time!

FYI. They only accept reservations for stays for two or more nights. After spending time researching where to stay on the Big Island near Volcano Village for our two day/one night trip (the rest will be on Oauh), we decided on Hale Ohia Cottages. BUT, when I went to check on availabilty for one night, was told that they just recently changed their policy and will no longer be accepting stays under 2 nights.
