Big Island Volcano/Hilo Accomodations
HELP! LAST MINUTE SCHEDULE CHANGE!
We will be in Maui for 5 nights and the Big Island for 9 nights this June. We are supposed to stay on the Kona side of the Big Island and now I am having second thoughts and would like some last minute lodging recommendations on the volcano side of the island.
Any reccommendations for a family of 6?
Should I stay in Hilo or Volcano?
Thanks.

Country Goose B&B in Volcano Village has several houses they also rent, and a few of them have several bedrooms.

9 nights is a long time to spend on the volcano side of the island. Splitting your time between the 2 sides would be ideal.
I recommend Art& Orchids B&B on the volcano side. It's about 20mins. from the volcano, about 20 mins from the beach and would be great for a few nights stay. There's a fully equipped kitchen and common room for the guest's use... ideal for families. There are only 3 rooms (one is a very large family room for 4 poss.5 if you have a young child). Rooms are less than $100 a night and breakfast is included (it's all homemade/grown in the back yard including the coffee and delicious).
The weather is generally better on the Kona side (less rain) and you might want to consider that.
