Big Island: Sunset Dinner: One Great Evening: Needing Votes!

Ok, I am off to the B.I. for a week, and my husband will be joining me after a few days. We will be at the Hilton for a few nights before moving down to Kona.
We have two available dinner out nights up in the resort area. One night, I would like to dine at Roy's. The second is up to Fodorites......

For dinner, we like great food, not too off the wall, doesn't have to be super dressy, but would like to catch the sunset. Oh, and yes, the 'tiki' factor is a bonus, it is extra credit!! Here are finalists:

1. Canoe House
2. Brown's Beach House
3. Pahu i'a (Four Seasons)
4. Kamuela Provision (Hilton)

Well, anyone want to vote?

My vote is for a restaurant not on your list - Edwards at Kanaloa. Excellent food and the most gorgeous setting right on the cliffs. We saw an amazing sunset there. It's a bit pricey, but it was a fabulous evening.

We are staying at Kanaloa at Kona after our stay up at Waikaloa, and will be dining at Edwards one evening! I have had lunch there, and the view was incredible! Thanks for the suggestion, it is on my Kona dining list.

Canoe House. Our vote for world's most romantic sunset dinner venue.

We ate at Canoe House on our wedding night (planned elopement), and found it very romantic. The food was good, and the atmosphere was great. Sunset, ocean, tiki torches, what a night.

definately Canoe House. Go before sunset and sit outside. As the sun goes down, the tiki's light and it's great.

Well, 3 votes for the Canoe House...
You never know, some Hollywood bodybuilder taking advantage of a recount vote might throw something into the ring...

I remember our meal at the Pahu I'a at the Four Season's more so than the one at the Canoe House. The setting at the Pahu I'a was a little more intimate and the service was outstanding.

I just called the "Canoe House" to make our reservation, and since we aren't staying there, they won't reserve a table until two weeks before our visit. So, hmmmm. I will try that!
