Big Island

Which beach on the Big Island has calm water which would be good to wade or for snorkeling right offshore.

The beach at Natural Energy Labs just south of the Kona airport has a nice tidepool for wading. Kahaluu Beach Park south of Kailua-Kona on Alii Drive has protected snorkeling and lots of turtles.

Kahaluu Beach Park - 2 miles south of Kona, on Alii Drive. Reef-protected and home for some turtles.

We snorkeled off Kahaluu Beach. It has great snorkeling some of the best. You will see Turtles just swimming around. We saw 3.
