Beverly hills

We are thinking of staying at the Beverly Hills hotel and the Regent Beverly Wilshire next month and would welcome any comments or advice regarding the hotels.

Grew up there. The BW is right on Wilshire & Rodeo. The BH is away from the triangle district where you will most likely sightsee. Both have good reputations; however, I would stay at the BW for touring because you can woalk everywhere and there's traditionally NO PLACE TO PARK.

I stayed at the BW last August and had a pleasant time there. Nice facility, good service, good room service food, nicely furnished and clean rooms, and, as Cherie points out, centrally located.
Not the top of the line, but definitely a serious hotel.

About a year ago I stayed at Hotel Nikko in BH. It was quite elegant. Several "hot" music groups happened to be staying there at the time. My kids flipped out when I said I swam laps with the Beastie Boys!

Don't forget to consider the Peninsula Hotel as well! It's much newer and more beautiful than the other two (centrally located as well)!!

I would try the Peninsula. It is wonderful! Great location too. If you prefer one of the other two, the Regent Beverly Wilshire has a better location to walk around Beverly Hills. Enjoy!

Personally thought the Beverly Prescott was the best in BH. Its just a short walk up the hill from Rodeo Drive. One of the most beautiful, definately THE cleanest, whimsical, charming and friendliest hotels I've every used. (I travel a lot.) However, it was purchased in 1998 by Rennaisance hotels. Who knows how they may have degraded the place. Might still be worth a look.
