So what's the big deal? She shouldn't have packed it if she didn't want someone to see it. We all know how your luggage is checked these days. She shouldn't get any special treatment (escorted to a private area), everyone else has to stand in front of a crowd and have their luggage & bodies searched. I can hardly believe they allowed her to open the bag and hold the item up in the air. I've always had someone take my bags and search through them, I didn't do the searching. She's an idiot and shouldn't have a leg to stand on in court.

Delta employees could have been a tad more diplomatic. After all, one would assume that all security agents are trained on diplomacy of rifling thru lingerie and items of a personal nature. Nevertheless it makes you wonder if this woman was SO humiliated and embarrassed, then why is she now filing a lawsuit and having her name publicly splashed across the news. Goodness knows, we ain't the only folks chatting about this story around the water cooler.

P.S. Beachbum, you're right --- a lesson for all is REMOVE THE BATTERIES !

I just knew this was going to happen, it was only a matter of time. Don't people realize that they will be searched now?

I don't see how they can claim gender discrimination. I mean, would it have been any less hysterical if it had been a man traveling with his vibrator?

uhhhh, think about it clueless, what does a vibrator simulate? What do men of a certain persuasion enjoy? Is it beginning to make sense?

Now that scene would have had me rolling on the floor!

Nina, some wags in ERs have deemed it code pink or the like - announce over intercoms for anyone free and interested in watching extrications. You brought up the subject, so no blushing now!

Who said she was claiming gender discrimination? Love how people take these stories in their own simple minded direction.

I don't think she is upset about the search sounds more like the laughing dug the grave. How would you like it if three children passed public judgement on contents of your private property? I Think that will mean something in a court room. If they ignore it, it will mean that anyone can hold up your panties and laugh out loud. That is what a judge will need to be thinking about. How can the decision on this case be used down the road.

The first post said she was claiming gender discrimination. And what makes you think someone hasn't held up my panties and laughed out loud?

Nina I don't care if someone has held up your panties it is not treatment I would expect my wife or mother to have to endure.

Here is a link to a news article that defines why they are calling it sexual discrimination. They allege that "obnoxious and sexually harassing comments" were made. Oh but I guess she had that coming too Nina?

Nina, if what you say is true about alternative lifestyles and their use of that adult toy, then we'll have to toss the gender discrimination portion her suit out.

And xxxx, if the panties were unusual, I would expect people to laugh at them, mine or not. That's what people, all people, not just children, do when they find something either amusing and/or embarrassing. Panties in themselves generally aren't funny though, but a vibrator going to town in a suitcase IS, and to expect people to confront that with a straight face in unrealistic. Chill, girl. Can we hazard a guess at some of your hobbies?

xxxx, Depends on the panties. I think I'd be laughing right along with whomever was laughing at my panties, rather than filing a lawsuit.

Lighten up xxxx, you're taking this a little bit too seriously. We're just (trying) having some fun.

Clueless why not read the article that xxxx left before you tell people what you think is going on.

I am a lawyer who has read the article and I can tell you that this case will settle big and out of court.

You might think panties are funny but searching for passenger safety and intentional public humiliation are two different things. No one is expecting harassment and the airline does have a responsibility to see that its employees are not promoting it. If everything the plaintiff claims is true and can be proven than Delta is in deep water.

Finally the voice of reason thanks Rick.

Nina I travel too much not to take this seriously. Ever flown El AL, some countries give there airlines outrageous limits for their conduct. It is not always in the interest of safety but more in the interest of some worker who has put in too many hours with little pay or maybe they are just extraordinarily mean in nature. I don't think I should ever be scape- goated for that. Looks like that is what happened to this woman here.

I read the article Rick. What makes you think I didn't? That doesn't change my mind. A vibrator goes off in a suitcase causing alarm for baggage handlers. If a suitcase were vibrating on a tarmac next to a plane and I were a baggage handler, I wouldn't touch it. I'd have the owner open right where it is, (while I stood well back) lest in the moving whatever the thing is, detonates, blowing up the plane as well. So she opens it, holds it up as requested so they can see it, and sure enough, it's bloody funny when revealed in all its vibrating glory. As for he says she says, now who is going to prove this in court.

I hope Delta insists on a jury trial where they can once again hold it up, vibrating of course, as evidence. Then witness everyone's reaction. It'll be laughed right out of court.

Talk about public humiliation, that is just what this couple has brought upon themselves. It's on talk shows, it's in the papers, it's one of Yahoos lead stories. You think both he and she are not now a laughing stock, but not because of what Delta did, but because of their suit. It's a joke.

Lighten up Ranger Rick, you're taking yourself way too seriously, (along with quadruple X rated).

What makes me think you did not read the article? because you sound like a complete ass.

The "bloody" comment says it all though.

Good Night Gracie!

Tsk tsk Rick, didn't they teach you in law school that resorting to name calling was a sign of someone in an indefensible position whose battle was lost and that was the only weapon he had left?
