Hi Caitlin,
I'll ask again the same question I did on your other post.
What do you mean by "site"?? Do you mean like best "place to go" for a family as Hank responded??
I am a parent with 2 kids and can recommend some places we've been and enjoyed or not enjoyed if that is what you are looking for but how about some more details? How old are the kids in the family?

My first time on this website...sorry for not being more specific. I do mean attraction, museum or monument in the Washington DC area. The kids are 14 and 11. I appreciate the help but let's not get so annoyed at the small things in life...thanks to Hank and Sonya for trying to help.

Caitlin,
I am also planning a trip to DC this summer with my kids(6 &9) and husband.
Unfortunately, I can't answer your questions because I haven't been yet and am looking for the same answers you are. My post which I started a month or so ago is "top 5 things for kids in DC" or something along those lines and lots of people gave some great advice. See if you can find it.
I also bought the "unofficial" guide book by Frommers after checking several guidebooks out of the library first to see which one met my needs. This book has great info! But of course I had to come here too and ask opinions because I would much rather hear from someone who has done the same thing with kids and what theirs thought of it.
Anyway, best of luck in getting your info I'll be anxiously watching the responses as I am still in the planning stages myself.
Also, as you may be aware, some places like the White House, Capitol, FBI, etc are still closed to the public since 9/11.
Welcome to Fodors!
