Best Winery Tour?

Who has the better winery tour to Napa and Sonoma...Great Pacific Tour Co? Grayline? California Jeep Tours? Has anyone had experience with these companies touring wine country that you could share? Unfortunately, I will not have a car to drive or be able to rent one.

to me. any winery is a delight to visit! those offering visits to the larger places might be the best. or, do you have a fave ca wine, and want to visit that winery?

Gray Line visits Mont St. John, Sutter Home and also goes to Calistoga for lunch. Great Pacific goes to Viansa and Domaine Chandon. California Jeep Tours goes either to Napa or Sonoma where they visit 24 wineries but they won't reveal which ones they go to. Any advice?

Napa has gotten so overrun with tacky tourists out for a free buzz on wine samples that many wineries now charge for what was previously a free visit. Sonoma is less plagued by the hordes. Your best bet is to rent a car and drive yourself! There are plenty of guides available online and in the hotels.

There are several limo companies that will take you on your own selected wine tour, if that fits into your budget. Take a look at www.napavalley.com

jOHN,

Funny but not funny!
Calif Hwy Patrol has been known to have a field day with visiting "tasters" so either have a designated driver or take the suggestion the always helpful Kam-bbb offered and get a limo.

It's cheaper all things considered!

Remember, it's a TASTING and not a CHUGGING. ;^ )
