Best restaurant in America?

Okay Fodorites....you well healed, well travelled, good looking men and women of these boards...what do you think is the BEST restaurant in America?

My vote:

French Laundry in Yountville, California.

The freshest ingredients, creative blending of flavors, beautiful presentation and just the best food I have ever tasted. How about you?

Tough question. So many great restaurants, so little time.

I'll have to get back to ya.

I have 4 favorites (it's just too hard to choose just one when the selection is this good!)

For Hamburgers: WHATABURGER

For Fries: (Tie) MC DONALD'S and
IN N OUT BURGER

For Shakes & Grilled Chicken Sandwiches: SONIC

Alice's La-Te-Da in Key West Florida. Food was great, outside dining by the light of moon and pool area. They have great entertainment, and piano bar.

Easy, The Swallow at the Hollow in North Baltimore. You know, I once saw Boog Powell eat three of their huge roast beef sandwiches and drink two pitchers of beer....and this was BEFORE the game.

I think he went 1 for 4, with an RBI.
