Best pool in Vegas with 3 yr old?

We will only be in Vegas for 1 nt, mid-April, during our round-trip from SD, LV, Gr Cyn, Sedona, PHX, SD. Looking for a hotel on the strip, with kiddie pool w/ slide (if possible), lazy river and pop-jets? Maybe even a wave pool, but last priority. Thank you!

Even with a toddler? If so, thanks, I wasn't sure if it was a good place with kids.

I am not sure what pools are even open in April. There maybe indoor pools in some hotels that are open year round. Better check the web site of the hotel you decide upon or you may be dissapointed.

Virtually all pools are open in April, xxx...are you kidding?
It's already approaching 100 degrees by late April, definitely by May.

With all of those requested "features" you'll want Mandalay Bay. But Mirage is better if you don't want to feel like you're invading a singles bar with the stroller, diaper bag, etc. Mandalay is a little meat market-y. My opinion.

No pool is good for a 3 yr old. In fact, no hotel is good for any kids in vegas. Don't bring kids to Vegas. Period. End of sentence.

farshy, we are driving from San Diego to Grand Canyon, Vegas is half way, so that is where we are staying.

Darvy, Does Mandalay have a separate kiddie pool, with it's own little slide? Then we could keep to ourselves. Thank you.

Thank you to the others for the info.

No it doesn't. i would probably stick with kid oriented hotels liek Circus or Excalibur. Vegas really isn't for children.

cheapovegas.com has critiques of pools on their website. The Chicago Tribune did a look at Vegas pools within the last month. Hope this helps!

I did look at an article posted on another thread, but, understandably, they don't give info on children's areas at the pools.

I was hoping for personal experience if there is a hotel with a nice, separate, children's pool.

Thank you.

Don't let them discourage you! We took a 1 year old twice. I didn't stay at the Mandalay Bay, but walking by the pool saw lots of families. And I thought it was gradual in depth like a beach. We stayed at Monte Carlo and NY, but those were your average big hotel pools. At Mandaly you can tour the sharks and don't forget the baby lions at MGM.

I think at the Rio there's a kiddie pool, but I'm not sure. they have great pools with waterfalls. We are bringing our 11 month old there next month. Some people, like us, need to stay in Vegas with their children!! Have fun!!

I mean, some parents are driving through and need a place to stay while in Vegas. Some, like us, are in town for a wedding (that our infant is in). I used to be the one telling people where kids didn't belong. But now that I have a baby it changes everything!! People need to be more understanding.

Hi Emily-
We've vacationed in Las Vegas many times with our 4 children. (We've even been their with a 10 month old.) Stayed at Mandalay Bay. Fantastic pool. Best I've seen in the area. Lots of children. Very family friendly. Don't let others' negative comments get you down. There are millions of families that visit that city every year and have a fabulous time. We've also stayed at the MGM Grand. Nice rooms. Can't remember what the pool looked like. I don't believe it was anything special. Have a blast!!!!

The Rio does have a pool for children. They have several pools and many families stay there. It is a very nice hotel for families, with restaurants geared toward kids. It is off the Strip though.

Yep, a lot of people do bring kids to Vegas---a place that was begun for adults-the one place that adults used to be able to go to get away from everyone else's children, and have a vacation that didn't involve tripping over strollers every 10 seconds. So keep on ignoring the "negative" comments...and we will keep on telling you that gambling, nightclubs, smoke, and 100 degree plus heat are no place for children.

Well, we were out and about at the times most were heading to bed ; ) And by the time they got up, we were heading in for naps.

It was the weekend before 9/11 - I'm glad we have happy memories from a more innocent time.
