I rest my case. And I get $5 that your next reply will have three paragraphs.

Wrong, but you felt the need to comment on my comment originally just like I commented on yours. So what's the difference? It's OK for you to slam me, so long as I don't slam you? Get over yourself, please.

Neo, many posters have tried to explain the difference to you.

I apologize for thinking the OP was a troll. It's some of the replies that belong in that sinkhole perhaps but that's entertainment.

It's an opinion -- almost as valuable as hurricanes are the norm on the East coast but not the West coast of Florida.
Consider the source.

Hey NewbE, where's my $5?

Yes, consider the source. Some of us have given the OP helpful replies. Neo, vincenzo and Dukey, not so much.

But that's just an opinion, right?

Wow, NewbE you really have a problem about telling people when information is wrong, don't you? To me helpful is giving people correct information, but if you think it's better to let people believe incorrect information, it speaks volumes about you. Go for it.

You know what, guys? The more you post, the more you discredit yourselves. Neo, ask yourself how many of the threads you participate in have gone south in exactly the way this one is. vincenzo, ask yourself why you choose to be a troll on this board (and others, for all I know). Then report back.

NewbE, ask yourself when YOU became the police for this site and why it's up to YOU to decide whose posts are valuable and whose aren't. Then YOU get back to us as to why you staunchly defend incorrect information (even when expressed as an opinion) as more valuable than giving facts. I'd be interested in hearing why you think false information is better than true information.

Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for my $5 you promised -- or was I supposed to know that promise was false too, just like the information you want to defend?

This thread is getting sidetracked and OP has not returned for awhile. Maybe off topic banter should be taken to the Lounge? JMO.

I live on the east coast and we have not had any major storms in ten years. The west coast had heavy rain last month and they about washed away over in Tampa. Poor infrastructure is being blamed.
I also have never seen a sink hole, central Fl inland gets their fair share. Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach are very nice with great schools, fishing, shopping, hospitals, beaches and lower crime.

Jamie99, I think Dukey got it right back at the beginning. But what is "off topic banter" about clearing up mis-information? Or are you referring to NewbE's continual ranting about setting the record straight and trying to discredit posters who do so? I guess that would qualify as off topic.

Flpab, shame on you for clouding someone's wrong opinion about storms by giving facts! NewbE may yell at you for doing that!

Am I reading that a young woman wonders where to locate in Florida married to a guy who loves fishing and being warm? My first question is does he have a job and then what are your own interests? Second question is about the schools which deserve a close scrutiny if planning a family. Our daughter lives south of Melbourne with her hubby a college teacher. Neither are enamored with the politics and weather. Actually, as you know, there is lots of variety in the state as to rural-urban etc.

Ozarksbill, she doesn't live in Palm Bay does she? That is horrible there. Sebastian Inlet is nice.

Well it was always north of Melbourne, but with those horrendous and frequent East Coast storms in Florida, perhaps it blew south?
