Looking for a suggestion for a couple day trip on the west coast of the Us (or possibly Canada). What I am looking for is a place with a nice night atmosphere - a place with interesting landscaping where you can walk around. The obvious choice is Walt Disney World resorts, which have well-lit gardens and landscaping at the resorts. But I am looking for something different, also perhaps a little less hot!.

Decent restaurants would be nice, but I don't need a lot of clubs or bars, and this is about relaxing, not trying to find a date. The landscaping doesn't have to necessarily be around the hotel, it could be in the area but easily accessible.

I guess you mean a trip for a couple of days? Couple day trip could mean a day trip for a couple. I think your thread title could use some work.

Vancouver is perfect... Go to the Stanley park there... Close your eyes. Open your eyes ... Nice bushes...

Sorry. I was up typing past my bed time and apparently made a few typos. I meant a couple of days, not a day trip for a couple.

Where would you be driving from? That would help.

Wherever I need to, really. I will be landing in LAX on my way out, but from there I basically have one day to fly somewhere, a day to spend there, and then a flight back the next morning. I don't mind smaller out of the way places, and just hanging around, but I really need some creative stimulus, and want something in particular related to lighting and teh night environment.

What about Las Vegas? I mean except for the gardens...it seems like the most interesting and creative night atmosphere I can think of.
