Best Kid Activities (ages 10 and 13) on Oahu

I need some highly recommended activities for my two dd's for an upcoming summer trip. Also, any kid friendly restaurants would be greatly appreciated also. I am hoping to spend 2 days in the Honolulu area and then probably 3 days in the north. Thanks!

These are both right there in Waikiki -- small, with very reasonably-priced admissions. Half-day or less to tour each:
Honolulu Zoo
Waikiki Aquarium

But they'll probably want to spend all day at the beach, learning how to surf! 8-)

Surf Lessons. My kids took them from Hawaiian Fire surf school 2 years ago and it was one of the best things they did on Oahu. A really class operation. Pricey but well worth it. Check out their web site www.hawaiianfire.com. One of the nicest things was they had a photographer with them with a really long lense so there were alot of really great pictures. You buy the disc at their shop afterwards and then you can just have them printed when you get home.

Polynesian Cultural Center - Takes a full day.

USS Arizona Memorial, USS Missouri, USS Bowfin

Hike Diamond Head

Hike Manoa Falls trail

Bishop Museum has a Volcano House where kids can create volcanoes & tidal waves.

Honolulu Zoo & Waikiki Aquarium are OK, but with only 5 days I think I would skip them, especially if you have a zoo and aquarium near your home.

Snorkel Hanauma Bay or some place on North Shore. Shark's Cove & Kuilima Bay at Turtle Bay Resort are both good.

Hawaiian Adventures Water Park - Nice water park, but an hour from Waikiki. If you have a decent water park at home, skip this.

Chinatown & Aloha Tower. Iolani Palace is near.

Hi,
Great restaurants-The Patisserie for deli sandwiches/German food at the Kahala Mall near Star Supermarket. Really inexpensive- a rare find on Oahu. Leonard's Bakery in Kapahulu for hot malasadas. Matsumoto's Shave Ice on the North shore- don't miss it!

Also- buy some boogie boards at Walmart or Costco to use while you're there. Waimea Beach Park, Kailua beach or Lanikai beach are some of my favorites.
