We will be in Oahu for 2 days in Wakiki. Do you recommend a car rental to get to North shores? Thanks!

North Shore of Kauai is my own personal mecca but too hard to choose. How can anyone ignore Waipio Valley on the BI or the volcano when its dark. I had a dream the other night that I bought a house in the neighborhood I grew up in in southern New Jersey the master bedroom had a veiw of a Maui beach .

Each Island is unique and different anyone who tells you can choose is a one time visitor, they all have different charms. I would stay all 10 days on Oahu and save other islands for another time only grabing a piece of time will make you yearn, why not get the best in one visit, one island.

aloha girl you really can't say that about Oahu it depends on what she is visiting the island for. Some people get bored in wide open spaces with limited or non-existent metropolitan areas. I love Oahu for learning about Hawaiian history, Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace, Missionary Settlement House, Heiaui on the North Shore. The cultural stuff that is unrivaled by any other island, Blaisdell, Opera, Kabuki probably the best in the U.S when it is on at UH, Japanese Cultural Center, Byodo Temple, China Town, Botanical Gardens & connecting temple, Not to mention THE AMAIZING RESTAURANT SCENE!!! I could go on, just needed to point out that yes Oahu does not have the natural beauty in volumes the way the other islands do but there are other reasons why this island is the number one travel destination of Japanese and some Americans.
