Without any doubt, the Royal York. It is right at Union Station and it is the best location. We have stayed there at least a dozen times and it is a gorgeous hotel. For more details you can email me directly.

It's been nine years since I stayed at the Royal York but I'm sure it hasn't changed much. It's a very good hotel and has an undergound walk-through to the subway/train station. I'd hesitate to call it a reeeeeally nice or exceptional hotel - just well above average. Keep in mind that the rooms are relatively small and the hotel itself is huge. Has 2,000 rooms (I think) or possibly more. I was advised to stay at The Sutton, but at that time it was out of my price range (and it still is . The Sutton is reputed to be small, service intensive and elegant. As for walking, the subway and streetcar system is clean, quiet, safe and incredibly efficient. Any hotel within short distance of a subway station will provide easy and quick access to the entire city. I just returned from T-Town and left the car parked for all four days - didn't need it at all. Have fun - it's a great city!

Ditto recommendations above for Royal York. But, it fills up fast - so book forthwith. Our dates at the end of September were not available.

THE reaaaally nice hotel is supposedly the Four Seasons. We recently got back from the Royal York, and although wary of large convention hotels, I must say it was a pleasant experience. Our room was relatively small, but fairly tasteful, and at these exchange rates, a bargain. I'm not sure how great it would be for a business traveler--the room had virtually no closet, but it did boast hookups for modem, and it had a business center, but for tourists you can't go wrong with that location. We walked to a game at the skydome, and I don't think you could have been much closer. Plus it's historic, and has a bunch of restaurants and lounges, and a pool, I think.

Judy, there is no comparison between the Royal York and the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons is a true luxury hotel with exceptional service. You may be able to get a weekend rate. I believe they accept the entertainment card on weekends as well. It's located in a very upscale neighborhood, Yorkville. The only disadvantage would be that you'd have to take a cab to your concert.
