Could someone please tell me the best resort (preferably a timeshare resort) at Hilton Head that is not a Marriott...a 5 star or Gold Crown rating...thanks.

Could someone please help me with this...I've got to make a decision quickly...we're leaving 7/21st! Thx.

The Westin Resort is very nice. Stayed there last year while on a convention. Great indoor & outdoor pools, beach. Rooms are nice but nothing special. This is a better property than the Marriott. I've stayed at both. Have fun.

I also agree the Westin is a very nice resort. When you look at time shares, check out Palmetto Dunes Plantation. Sea Pines is too crowded and commercial.

My favorite plantation is Palmetto Dunes. It is in the central part of the island so is convenient to all. It seems to be a newer plantation and is lovely. My recommendations on properties would be Hampton Place(newest) and Windsor Ct. & Place (fairly new). These are beautifully landscaped properties that have 1-4 bedroom villas that are privatly owned and rented. The beach is wide and uncrowded here and the plantation has lovely bike trails, tennis and golf. We have used (www.islandgetaway.com)in the past and have been very pleased with their properties. You might want to check out their web site, it is very informative. It will tell you all about Hilton Head, Palmetto Dunes and the villas I have mentioned. I realize this is too late for your trip this summer but I hope this information helps someone.
