Have you received an email from an airline requesting an update...
....of info per TSA's requirements? I received an email from Southwest as a Rapid Rewards member requesting I "update" my RR information for "Secure Flight Passenger Data." Has anyone else received something similar?

No. We are flying SW tomorrow.
And be careful not to click on any links - it was in the news this morning, some e-mails like Hotmail, Gmail were compromised - phishers got people's user names and passwords.
But in case this is legit, go to Southwest website (not through your e-mail) to see if it should be updated.
There are new rules about gender and age given to the airlines.

I got the email from SW. When I booked tickets today, they asked that I update my info when I logged in to my SW rapid rewards account. It's legit, but I would go to the website and do it that way, as Dayenu said, I don't like to click thru links in email.

Yes, I got it too mclaurie - the email came right after I bought a ticket on SWA two days ago. But I was leary too and didn't go through the process following the link. The email made it sound like all airlines are being asked to update this info for TSA, but I have seen nothing in the news or from other airlines about this, so it is kind of strange.

Just a guess - one some airline websites you can save your info so that it automatically fills in the passenger info when buying a ticket. Since the requirement is that this info now includes DOB, sex, and exact match name - it is possible that if you are a FF and have saved this info they are asking you to update.
Or it could be a scam and by this time tomorrow all your bank accounts will be cleaned out.

I also received an email from Southwest requesting the update. It came about a week after I purchased tickets with them.
The TSA request for info was in the news a couple months ago. Your exact name, address, etc. on your ID must match the info on your travel vouchers/tickets.

Dayenu and DebitNM-
Were you already Delta FF members? If not, and you were Northwest members, you were assigned a new Delta FF number as a result of the merger.
Otherwise, not sure why you would get a new number - for failing to link your two accounts when they asked you to, maybe?

I am a Delta FF, but now that you mention it, I may have a NW ff account from when I was trying to book a FF flight on NW.
"As part of the Northwest/Delta merger, your WorldPerks® account is now a SkyMiles account. Please begin using the below SkyMiles account number — instead of your WorldPerks number — for all future Delta, Northwest and partner transactions.
Your new SkyMiles number is"

Exactly... I got letters from Northwest and Delta asking me to merge my miles, and if I didn't by a certain date, I'd be assigned a new FF number.

I received the email, too--couldn't log-on using the link so a few days later went to southwest.com to log-on and check my info where a similar message re: the TSA was posted. This was about a week ago.
