Yank Sing in the Rincon Center. Pricey, but truly fabulous.

Slightly cheaper but also great is Ton Kiang on Geary in the Outer Richmond - worth the drive.

For some amazing but really cheap take-out, try the place (I don't know if it has a name) at 752 Jackson. I promise you, you will be the only tourist in the place. Possibly the only English-speaker. Don't miss the shrimp dumplings.

Yank Sing is good, I wouldn't call it truly fabulous.

I much prefer those hole-in-the-wall or second floor places in Chinatown.

Both Yank Sing and Ton Kiang are heavy tourist favorites, without any atmosphere.

Having only eaten at one, we enjoyed City View. About half tourist and about half local's. It seemed very segregated, but everything was good and fresh.
