I'm hoping you are planning to put a little vodka into your POG.

I prefer the Haleakala brand, but usually get whatever is cheapest at Safeway or Foodland. Be sure to get your Safeway and Foodland cards to save money on groceries. It osly takes a few minutes to enroll.

Vodka? Rum is good, too. We buy the orange cartons at Safeway, don't remember the brand. Mmmm good!

I think "best" for POG is subjective. Do you like it thick? thinner? more Guava or more Passion? My mom used to make it at home because she preferred hers a certain way.

Haleakala Brand is supposedly the best but I also buy what's on sale. For convenience (to drink while on the road), canned is fine for me!

POG (passion-orange-guava juice) is somewhat diluted...so I go for the guava nectar in the carton (milk aisle -- can't remember brand name, as it's just something I grab).

Rum seems to be best with the fruit nectars...it's got that tropical feel. Also, if you like margaritas and you'll be shopping at our Costco here on Kaua`i, they sell jugs of Jose Cuervo Golden Margarita, made with Grand Marnier (not a mix; it's really full-on margarita) for about $20. Salt that glass rim, add ice, pour from the jug, and enjoy!!

So, bbq, who learned something new? Me? You? Dukey?

So now that we have solved the POG problem, where's the best place to buy wine? Is that at Costco also?

Just got back from Kona and the best and cheapest place to buy POG, Rum and wine is at Costco. Bought the huge jug of POG for 2.99. Also have the Safeway card and took over $60 off my bill plus because I bought so much of something got 2 free movie tickets which I left for the maids as we live in Toronto and couldn't use them. Hope this helps.

Wine....Oahu or Kauai? I prefer to buy from Tamura's or Fujioka's. Costco has some gems once in a while, but they don't store it properly before putting it in the store so sometimes the wine gets a little funky.

You might also get wines at the Liquor Collection in Ward Warehouse. Sometimes they have excellent sale wines.

Oh, that's right! Our last trip, about six months ago, we bought POG at Costco - greatest price. We stock up on wine and rum there, too. Hey, does anybody buy food on this board or is it just drinks? Confession - I have a family to feed so I buy food, too. 8-)

Well, I meant to post instead of just making a rainbow!

I like passion fruit juice with champagne.
