Bend
What's going on in Bend next weekend that has EVERY single hotel sold out on Friday night? I was just going to pass through on my way from Crater Lake NP to Portland. Should I even bother trying to have a Friday night dinner or Saturday morning breakfast?

It's probably not what you want, but I found a room at Econo Lodge for 8/5: http://www.econolodge.com/ires/en-US...state_country=

Also, I often get what I want when I call. The new Oxford Hotel is supposed to be nice. I would call them first.
A reservation at Econo Lodge for 8/5 can be cancelled up until 4 pm on 8/5. I would make a reservation at such a place and keep trying hotels where I would much rather stay until I find what I want.
This almost always works for me. (It didn't work at Lewiston, ID, a few years ago when I got there the weekend they were having boat races on the river.)

If you're just heading for Crater Lake, try the Best Western in the north end of La Pine. If that is booked, try the Woodsman in Crescent. Our town is torn up right now but should be quiet on Saturday. http://bestwesternoregon.com/hotels/...wberry-station
