we are going back to las vegas at the end of July. We have stayed at the luxor and the mgm, and am stuck between the bellagio or TI. I know the bellagio is probably terrific, but is it worth an extra 175.00 for four nights, in a normal room. We are just normal people, not fancy snobs. Thanks for the help

If it is only a total of $175 for four nights for the Bellagio I would choose that over Treasure Island. If it is $175 a NIGHT then the Treasure Island would suffice just fine.

TI has a nice pool area, but I think you would appreciate the amenities of Bellagio over TI and it is getting pretty worn the last time I stayed there.

I walked through only the common areas of TI and Bellagio recently, and thought the TI was extremely "worn out" (don't know if that applies to the rooms or pool, of course). Between the two, I'd pick the Bellagio.

While the Bellagio is a much nicer property, if room is not all that important, save your money and stay at TI. FYI see if you can ask /tip your way ($20)to an upgraded room.

This is one of those situations in which for a little more you get a whole lot more.

Go with Bellagio and forget about tipping anybody to get an upgrade--that's for rubes. As somebody on this forum queried, what do you do when the $20 doesn't get an upgrade--ask for your tip back?

I'd probably opt for something in between, say Paris, for eg.

Assuming its 175 TOTAL extra (not per night), Bellagio is absolutely worth it. Because July should be pretty slow, you'll probably get a room with a fountain view just by asking. You can turn the TV in the room to a special channel to get the music, and watch the show from your room.

Also, the Buffet at Bellagio is fantastic, as is the gelato place. Of course, they have a number of great and expensive restaurants.

Why not stay at The Mirage? For two people, you cannot pass up the pool! Clean and comfortable and a lot to offer.

There's a huge difference betw. Bellagio and Treasure Island. Save your money and book at The Mirage... It's better than Treasure Island but not as expensive as Bellagio. You can walk down and check out the fountain display at the Bellagio, then walk inside and get a gelato, then tour the boutiques and marble floors.

I'm a little put off with your implication that people who stay places such as Bellagio aren't "normal" and are "fancy snobs" however.

A normal room at the Bellagio for that rate might mean you're getting a pool or highway view. Kind of takes away from the experience of staying there if you can't see the fountain show from your room. If you are going to stay there, make sure to ask for the lake view.

The other fact to consider is that the massive City Center project is taking place right next door to the Bellagio. I'm not sure I'd want to be in one of their spa tower rooms overlooking one of the world's largest construction projects.

As stated by others, if all you care about is the common areas, you can see those without paying the extra cost. But, the TI is getting a bit worn out.

Paris or Mirage would be good alternatives. As I stated before, Belagio is a nicer property but the standard rooms are not far and away superior to TI. Traditionally Belagio will ask if you want to be 'upgraded' to fountain view (at least an additional $25 a nt).

PS: Anyone who goes to Vegas and is afraid to ask for something or does not know how to appropriately tip is more than just a rube.

In this context I would ask for what I want, but I would not tip in the hopes of getting what I want.

Those who think they got an "upgrade" by tipping may be surprised to learn that they would have gotten the same thing by asking for it.

we recently stayed at Bellagio and hated it, everything is twice as much as anywhere else, its full of 'look at me' people who are usually loud. I don't like TI pool either , its far too noisy. The Mirage or Paris are better and further away from all the construction noise and dust. The best hotel/casino by far for value for money (but 10 minutes drive away) is Southpoint fab. rooms reasonable priced food. Nice people.

I stayed at both TI & Bellagio and enjoyed them both but must say enjoyed the Bellagio much more because everything is newer, but Bellagio is also more expensive compared to TI so i guess its more a matter of budget.

Check out www.smartervegas.com for deals from the hotel websites they have them both for Bellagio and TI and they seem to have pretty good offer for July.

You can tip at the Bellagio for an upgrade, there is no way the hotel can keep track of all the rooms. It is not an accepted management practice but they do just look the other way with upgrades. I just asked an acquaintence whose spouse is a vp at the hotel (there are lots of vp's according to department) about this last week.

TI is 3-4* and the Bellagio is 5*.

I also agree with others you can check the Venetian or Palazzo, they just had some terrific deals but it had to be booked by the 27th of June. As little as $105/nt at the Venetian. You can check around.

Ps, sign up for internet specials for the hotels you are interrested in as some discounted prices not availible through the general website.

Bellagio. Was just there recently. Don't associate staying there with being a snob. Enjoy your accomodations!

There are always very good deals at the Ventian if you search. I did a quick search and found one on priceline with airfare. Looks like it's about 150 bucks a night on a suite

Besides for the Wynn, I like it the best. Much better than Treasure Island and just as good as the Bellagio imo.

Also look at www.smartervegas.com where they have all the current promos listed - most strip hotels are listed.

Does everyone go to Las Vegas just to say the have stayed at the Bellagio, its only a room, you can get a room for less that half the price of these tourist trap hotels and spend what you save on gambling, cos thats what Vegas is for.
