Bed and BREAKFAST in Penn. Dutch country?

My wife and I are looking for a bed and breakfast in Lancaster County or nearby -- weekday night in August, no more than about $85 with a big breakfast (including hopefully something interesting in the way of pancakes, waffles or French toast).

Thanks.

Doug

look in to staying at a farm. They have really cheap sleeps and some offer big country breakfasts. I beleive the web site is padutch.com. These are great places to stay but book early beacuse they get really busy.

Carriage Corners B&B in Intercourse, PA (yes, that's the name!) serves oatmeal pancakes. You'll most likely find it listed on the www.bbonline.com site. Lots of other little places in Lancaster County and almost all serve big delicious breakfasts. Enjoy.

Bird in hand is a motel that has it's own restaurant which is priced good, the place is nice and clean and recently updated. They added 1 more pool to their 2 others. It is right in the center and everything is close by. Very beautiful scenery and priced resonable too, good luck they have their own web site also birdinhand.com

I never thought I would ever be in Amish county...but fate has taken me there twice in the last 4 months...there will be a plethora of B&B's..in Lancaster County...and in particular in Intercourse..(stop laughing)...and Bird in the Hand...Also..."Good and Plenty"..restaruant and gift shop is not bad..there are dozens of " what not shops"...and it is an interesting experience to hang out in the Amish country for a while...If you are a jogger in the morning...you need to watch out for the horse carriages..and take either cash.....or Visa...or Master card.....cuz..my trusty American Express was not widely accepted there...

I haven't gotten to Lancaster for a b&b stay but try the Pennsylvania Dutch Convention and Vistors Bureau for a nice vacation guide. Their phone number is 717-299-8901.
