One of the favorite Atlanta area places in in Marietta - Williamson Brothers BBQ

If you go into Atlanta, Fat Matt's Rib Shack is good -

For a chain, you can always try Sonny's

Fat Matt's is great - I would order their barbecue sauce to be shipped to California if shipping weren't so darned expensive! We ate there once, about 5 years ago, $22.00 for two, and live music to boot.

I also love Fat Matt's and they often have live music.

In the Marietta/Roswell area (Roswell, really) you can try the Swallow in the Hollow. Very good and they also have live music.

I would NOT recommend Sonny's. Here are some very good places: Pig 'N Chik Near Sandy Springs, Swallow in the Hollow and Dreamland in Roswell, and Barbeque One in Marietta. BBQ Two is in old Marietta and BBQ One is in East Cobb area of Marietta--and is my favorite--the ribs are excellent as well as anything on the menu. You will not be disappointed.

If you find yourself in Decatur, Maddy's Ribs and Blues Joint is great - and a clone (by a former owner) of Fat Matt's.

I like Sonny's - especially the pulled pork sandwich.

Swallow at the Hollow, Green Street, Roswell; Pig n Chik, Roswell Road, Sandy Springs both do very good jobs with pork. Swallow has atmosphere and good live music, normally Nashville and accoustic sounds, many evenings. Pig n Chik, on a busy street in a strip mall has nothing but food.

We've eaten at near all the establishments described above, but return over and over to Swallow.
