Bars and Clubs in NYC
Just wanted to post info on this subject from my last trip that I took in June to NYC with some girlfriends -- I didn't find a whole lot on this subject before I left, so thought I'd add my two cents now to any of those interested. Enjoyed going to several bars on the Lower East Side -- a friend of mine took me who lives there -- I believe some of the names were Bar Six, One and One (on 1st and 1st) and then in SOHO, Bar 89 (what you think of when you think NYC bar). Also, enjoyed the Flute - a champagne bar in midtown (also what you think of when you think of a "sheekish" NYC bar). Enjoyed the Russian Vodka Room in midtown, and actually enjoyed the Russian bar across the street from the Vodka Room more -- more intimate, very cool, especially if you like vodka. Kinda touristy, but like the Irish Pub in midtown -- bartenders very nice. Must go to McSorley's Ale House in East Village I think -- I believe oldest pub in NYC - they serve you two at a time. And went to one dance club - CentroFly - it was OK. I get tired of the continuous techno music. We asked and looked for a dance club that wasn't so techno continuously, but didn't find one (would be interested if anyone knows of one). There you go..hope it's helpful to any tourists looking to get a drink some night in NYC!
