Back from the Bellagio
Were back rom the Bellagio, the hotel is beautiful, the bathrooms spacious, the lakeview was nice, the pools were ok, but I would never stay there again. The hotel was expensive, a cup of coffee $5.00, vending machine 20oz bottle of Coke $2.50. When traveling I usually like to stay at 4-5 star* hotels but Bellagio was ridiculous. I got a great deal for Bellagio $129.00 night room they lure you in with a great deal then hit you over the head with every thing else. I could have stayed at the Mirage for $79.00 per night I should have stayed there. Again, THIS IS JUST MY OPIonion.

I thought the pool area was THE best in Vegas. Better the Mandalay bay where they have 8 pools and not one of them doesn't have kids running wild in them. More relaxed, beautiful and sedate.
However the service level and snootiness at this hotel was astounding.
The standard rooms are NOTHING to write home about. We took one look and walked back to the front dest to get a suite. Beautiful suite BTW but the halls are SOOOO long. I will be staying at Venetian where they are nicer or give 4 seasons a try if I want luxury digs in Vegas.

I stayed at the Bellagio last Feb. and LOVED it-- It had better service than the RITZ CARLTON chain and I thought the Ritz was the tops!!
The front desk upgraded me from a standard room to a room overlooking the DANCING WATERS--I could have lived in the room for the rest of my life-it was subtle but sooooo elegant--NOT the TYPICAL TACKY LAS VEGAS GARISHNESS(sp)
The food in the hotel was awesome- We ate in Le Cirque ( a branch of the NY rest.) and it was gorgeous, great waiter, terrific dinner-NOT SNOOTY at all.
We also ate in the Coffee Shop-the prices were reasonable--
But the best bargain in the hotel was ROOM SERVICE- had a terrific Club Sandwich and the meal was cheaper than the coffee shop.
I wanted to tape something on a show I was going to miss and the front desk arranged to have a VCR in the room , along with directions on how to use and a TAPE for me!!
They allowed us to have a very late check out ( as our plane was leaving at 10 pm-) We had a 6pm checkout-went to the Coffee Shop-had dinner and left for the airport---
The Spa is awesome- the Dale Chuhulay Hand blown glass ceiling in the LOBBY is a MUST and the Art Exhibit is one of the BEST outside of Paris---
I told my spouse I could MOVE IN HERE for life !!!
The people were NOT snobby,NOT snooty-Just very elegant and helpful-like you would expect at ANY 5 Star hotel-which THIS definitely was!!
I have stayed at the Mirage and felt like I was in a circus--all those bright colored rooms-- I much prefer an elegant room to bright colors--
I especially LIKED the GUARDS at the elevators not allowing anyone who was NOT staying at the hotel to have access to the room elevators-- I FELT VERY SAFE!!!
Stay there again-YES YES YES YES YES

Roe is the typical person I have written about before, when people ask "should I splurge on Bellagio, or the Four Seasons Maui, or fly first class, etc"
If you're living life on a budget, places like the Bellagio cause some people to expect service to the extreme...to have their shoes tied by the bellmen and have the staff drop at your feet and pay homage as you walk by.
Bellagio is for people who can afford nice places and who don't get all stressed about the cost.
IF THE PRICES STRESS YOU THEN YOU BELONG SOMEWHERE ELSE!
Plan and simple. Go stay at Luxor or Harrah's.
Many of the things people are willing to for at places like Bellagio are not glitzy and in your face. It's finer fabrics, better marble, nice moldings, nicer linens, better food, better service, etc.
Same people who would never understand why a Mercedes S Class sedan is worth what it costs to the people who enjoy them.
Either you 'get it' or you don't.
Either you can afford it or you can't.

Obviously there aren't many people who are in love with the place if they have to discount their rooms down to $129.
Bill, take a chill pill. "Either you can afford it or you can't"? Come on...what a ridiculous statement. I certainly can afford to pay $5.00 for a cup of coffee. But will I? No. It has nothing to do with being able to afford it. It has to do with being stupid enough to pay it.

I agree with Bills statement. I have stayed at many of the higher end places in L.V. and they ALL have some pretty pricey amenities. If you can't afford it, or complain about it, stay at a different hotel. AND YES the four seasons also has crazy prices but for my money I prefer the Bellagio - less kids.

Maybe you have never been to Vegas. 129 is pricey for a hotel room there and that is only for a basic standard room at the Bellagio which is my favorite hotel there.

I also agree with Bill and the others. Roe why would you even try to argue this point using your salary when you have no idea what people make or what there values are??!!! I know people richer than me who love and think Hiltons are high end. I also know people poorer than me who appreciated The Bellagio and what it offers.
I personally think it is one of the finest hotels in North America.

wow! Can someone just give their opinion in this place without people ready to jump on them! I read the original post and found it interesting. It was his/her opinion. I can afford to pay $5.00 for coffee but I certainly would not want to do so. Why is this site becoming such a battleground. You all need to chill!

I have stayed in Las Vegas numerous times in the last five years. I wish I could combine the best of each hotel into a perfect resort but I am not Mr. Wynn. I did like Bellagio but advise anyone who asks me that you must be prepared to spend some money. I have gotten to a point of staying away from the crowds off the strip at Green Valley Ranch Resort. The resort was great but I still missed the pools at Bellagio and the personal service at the pool at Four Seasons.
