Baby shopping in Philly

I'll be in Philly at the end of the month - staying at the Westin Philadelphia visiting relatives and doing some shopping. Any good and/or unique baby shops (clothes, gear, stuff) in that area?

I'm not finding much. I'm from Southern California so I have access to the big stores here.

Thanks.

I bought a baby in Philadelphia last winter, but it wasn't very good quality. And what a pain in the neck it was trying to return it!

Just be careful to keep your receipt in case the size or color are wrong.

Eeeevrybody's a comedian...Baby-selling is still a crime in Philadelphia as far as I know, but I'm not surprised you can buy them in the Big Apple.

Seriously, there are a number of small shops here in Philly selling baby clothes, etc. "Kamikaze Kids" on 4th Street just off South Street has a small, but nice selection. There is also a Gap Kids and a couple of children's shoe stores on/near South St as well. Carls on Chestnut (or Walnut?) around 12th is a big store that seems to specialize in urban/designer clothes for kids. "Born Yesterday" is more upscale at 19th and Chestnut.

Hope this helps.

But seriously. Try the Children's Boutique at around 17th and Walnut.

But seriously again...buy a copy of Philadelphia Magazine when you arrive. It always has several ads for interesting baby shops. The concierge can help you figure out which are close to the Westin.

Ouch, Ms Harvey, how did you do that? Slipping that little NY insult in there!

Renee, there is a small boutique in Rittenhouse Square called Born Yesterday. They have all sorts of fine clothing and toys for small children.
