We are planning a long weekend in Charleston and looking for a place that is baby friendly but still etains old world charm ( a suite would be ideal). any thoughts?

Hi, try reposting with a title that mentions Charleston. This post will get skipped over by many.

I have the perfect place for you. First, you don't want to stay at a B&B or small charming inn with a child, even an angelic one. Just a bad idea. Try the Embassy Suites in the historic district, Charleston. Despite the fact that it is a chain, this one is special. It is in the original Citadel and was an old fort. It still retains the thick fort walls, turrets and the rooms are large roomy, nicely decorated and even charming (for a hotel)! Plus there is a fridge and microwave which is a major plus with a baby, a pool and it includes a full buffet breakfast. The courtyard is gorgeous. It has a great location and when we dtayed last August with our 2 sons, the price was only $119/nt!. Trust me, it's a great choice for Charleston with kids.

Hi - if you want a real treat a very family friendly hotel is the Charleston Place hotel. Lovely service, beautiful rooms - expensive, but there are very reasonable packages sometimes. Great pool (how old is the baby?) The staff is extremely accomadating - cribs , rollaways, etc. we had a great time last august. good luck!
