AZ advice
Hello. I will be in Tempe,AZ in March for a graduation. Should I plan some extra days to see Sedona, Flagstaff, &/or GC? I don't have alot of vacation time left, but if it's worth it and since I'll be there already, I can swing a few days. What do you recommend (must sees and do's) for a tight schedule?? I have only been to Scottsdale. Thanks so much.

I'd definitely take a few days in Sedona just to soak in the red rocks and hike (if you like to hike or even just walk outdoors, this is beautiful top of the line enviroment) and shop. There is not all that much to "see" in Flagstaff- it's a nice area for hiking though (and there might be some skiing left there in March?), and Lowell Observatory is there. We went to the GC from Sedona once and stayed a few nights. I know people do the GC as a day trip from Sedona, but for me it would be a definite overnight.

Okay, thanks. Do you think 2 nights is enough in Sedona to get hit the highlights? I guess if I do a day trip to GC I have to then drive back to Phoenix to fly out? Is there a closer airport to fly to the east coast from? Thanks

I agree that you should definitely spend a night or two in Sedona--it is so beautiful! Also, I, too, would spend at least a night in the Grand Canyon. We did both of these last year and still are talking about our trip. We arrived at the GC early in the a.m.--around 9:00, spent the whole day and a night there, then left by the East entrance the next day. Be sure to take a Pink Jeep Tour while in Sedona--it is awesome. Do the Broken Arrow trip. You won't regret it.
Have a great time,
