Aventura Mall

Hello. As frequent visitors to Florida, we live in England, can anyone say whether the construction work at Aventura is finished.
It is 10 years since we visited Miami but plan to return this September, my wife loves shopping and we planned to re-visit this Mall along with Bal Harbour etc.

The construction at the Aventura Mall may be about finished but the social insurrection stemming from ethnic rivalry is on the upsurge. Now is not the best time to be visiting Florida. You might want to look at the subforum, "Florida Is Still Unsafe" under the main grouping "United States" which can currently be found in the second group of fifty.

I might also add that highway construction around the Aventura Mall is not complete and appears to be in its early stages making driving extremely difficult. It seems they are building a overpass that will go over US 1 and the Mall. What next? It seems that Aventura is becoming very much like your overcrowded downtown Southwest Miami areas. Its just a matter of time before Aventura becomes another slum.

Hi Johnny...wow if that previous post doesn't make you wary of Florida nothing will. Oh well, to each his own. My family and I were at Adventura in October (during a hurricane!) and had no trouble with "social insurrection" but we did enjoy shopping and the kids got their Hard Rock Cafe t-shirts. There did not appear to be any construction on the mall or miles of parking lots. There was road construction on our way there from Ft. Lauderdale causing the trip to take about 45 minutes. The kids thought their t-shirts were worth the drive Have a good trip. Adventura is a bargain hunters paradise.

I think it is interesting to note that the previous commentor,"not", who obviously does not reveal his true name, has failed to take his own advice in having made his statement. Surely, someone who does not heed his own advice cannot be taken seriously.

Do not ignore what I have to say and be very wary when traveling to Florida. You can have a good time but you can also have terrible experiences if you do not take the proper precautions.
