Austin outdoor events this weekend?
I'll be going to see my dad in Austin, Tx. tomorrow, Thursday 8Nov.and will be there until Sunday. Does anyone know of any cool outdoor events at this time or outdoor markets that are fun to go to? Thanks!

I don't know of any special events, but there are always great outdoor things to do around here. Here are a few ideas:
Take a hike on the Wild Basin Trail:

Have lunch at the Hula Hut, or some other restaurant on the lake:

Take a stroll around the UT Campus or or the Hike and Bike Trail on the river.

Do a Duck Tour:

Climb Mt. Bonnell:

I'll post back if I think of anything else.

Saturday is a home game for the Longhorns (v. Texas Tech). Be prepared for lots of crowds downtown all day. Tailgating starts early for games. Probably anywhere from 6th Street to the stadium will be impacted.
Hula Hut is a great eating option, so is Chuy's Tex-Mex and the Oasis. Just know that Saturday after the game will be busy busy busy!
The Wurstfest in New Braunfels (about an hour towards San Antonio) is on thru the weekend. Lots of fun, polka bands, good German food and of course beer. I can't remember the exact exit off I-35, but it's the one just before Walnut, then turn right, go a couple miles and you're there. Sunday is halfprice after 3pm. Go to wurstfest.com for details. Next to the Comal River, with a lovely park for picnics. Really a fun way to spend a few hours or more!
Welcome! We're happy to have you!

Good suggestions here.
Wurst Fest is going on:

You could browse the outdoor lifestyle center of the Domain or the Hill Country Galleria, which resemble cute little villages.
You could bike or rollerblade the veloway in South Austin.
The weather is supposed to be the mid-80's this weekend so some other options open up as well:
You could take a dip in Barton Springs.
You could sunbathe au natural at Hippie Hollow if you so dare.
Austin is all about outdoorsy type things.
