Aspen to Crested Butte hike West Pass
Planning to hike from Aspen to Crested Butte the last week of July. We would appreciate any tips you have concerning parking, shuttle service and hiking.

I've only hiked from Crested Butte to Aspen and it was over 15 years ago. From what I remember, we walked into the Maroon Bells park and took a shuttle into Aspen. I would check if you can still take a shuttle into the park from Aspen and how early it runs. We left very early in the morning. I think it takes longer to go from Aspen to Crested Butte because you start lower and have to hike up farther to get over the pass. Once you get to the Crested Butte side, I think you can make arrangements with Alpine Express to pick you up. Make sure you have a rain jacket as it will probably rain on you at some point during the walk. If you have more questions, in Crested Butte the Alpineer outfitting shop is the place to call.
