Are some posters for real?

I can only wonder what would make a person obsess about someone else being able to answer 80 enquiries and worry that someone has traveled all over the world. Is this called severe jealousy? I feel sorry for someone who has to worry about such things rather than be able to answer questions or travel him/her self.

Gee, let me see if I can guess ...
retired, housebound with illness or handicap, caring for someone who is housebound, elderly, works for the Travel industry, slow days at work, slow days at home, kids are napping, waiting for the contractors to finish the work on the house, hmmmm, I am sure there are more reasons why a person posts on Fodors frequently..how bout you Hofstra? what makes you come on the boards and ask?

Is it someone with a sad and lonely life who posts frequently on Fodors? I’ve never thought so. Although someone who counts the posts of another poster – That’s another matter and now I’m worried!
Personally, I prefer the frequent poster at least you can get an idea of their personality and validity of their postings

What's the problem Hofstra? Have you ever seen anything but good comments and compliments about the advice given on this board? I'm so grateful to the folks who've travelled widely and been so generous with info, that I've become hooked myself. How do you count post???

Early in the a.m. before I get the kids up for the mad rush to the bus , quietly sipping my coffee , on the way back from the laundry room , catch a minute to see wats up , while the gazillion friends are over yelling and running about , I zone out and am happily helping someone plan a magical trip to wherever ......

I look at it as a harmless past time which possibly benefits others... Like faithie mentioned, I first check in over my morning coffee. I think posting is more fun and interactive than watching TV or reading the newspaper, but along those same lines of entertainment.

54 for me, but a couple of them are from September, and I think one is from the spring. I posted on the ice cream post before resgistration (can't click on my name), so does that count or not count? Of course, some of my postings were deleted by Fodor's after they became a shouting match (and I ususally wasn't the problem).
And of the 54, how many were quality answers? One of the Sept. posts, now appearing in Oct., was for someone thinking of moving to Chapel Hill (an area of specialty for me). I gave really great, well thought out response, then to find out the guy was a troll/dreamer. So then I gave a short 'you can't have everything' response. Is that 'better' than putting my name on MaiTaiTom's trip report so I can pull it up later?

Well, I'm a musician and work in front of my computer, plus I book travel for my husband's company and am always looking for travel deals. He makes the $$, I do the planning. This board has been instrumental in many of my travel decisions and since I have traveled a LOT, I feel as though I have valuable info to share and enjoy doing so. A lot better way to spend my time than playing games or blogging about starlets.

You make me feel so guilty. I've obviously let my job and family get in the way of following my passion - FODOR'S. I'm going to do better. I think I'll respond to EVERYTHING today. Even things/places I know nothing about! I'm back, baby!
