rkkwan - thanks. AF is one airline we haven't flown so guess that explains it. That would be a nice feature IMO so I certainly think I wouldn't have missed that. Agree with your view as to why most don't install them.

My husband reminded me on this about my knitting and crocheting - and how I always use a footstool near the chair I am in to rest my arms on my lap while I stitch - so he thinks I will need one regardless as I plan to do some needlework both in the plane and at the hotel at night where we'll be - so today - Valentine's Day - he says it's his present to me!!!
I guess I will be having it in my carry-on now!
