Apartment Hunt
I'm looking for an apartment or studio for one person in chicago near Hyatt Regency O'hare Hotel or in the center where I can find easy transportation, I'm planning to start working in chicago on the 15th January 2001. The price range for the apartment is between 400-500.

I'm not familiar with the cost of renting an apt in Chicago but my guess is that you won't find much in your price range. I don't know if having a roommate is an option but it could save money. Maybe some fodors readers from Chicago could give more insight.

I don't know anything about apartments near O'Hare. I don't know anybody, who lives there. You should check out the other neighborhoods of Chicago such as Wicker Park or Lincoln Park. It would be more fun for you if you lived in one of Chicago's many neighborhoods. I would recommend not living near O'Hare.
Barnes and Noble has books in the travel section about moving to Chicago, and I would look at those.
Public transportation should be relatively easy from any of Chicago's neighborhoods.
Your price range is a little low for Chicago. You might be able to find a studio in a neighborhood like Logan Square or Wicker Park, but you probably can't afford a one bedroom. (Check out Wicker Park. I live there, and I love it. Good public transportation, fun nightlife with plenty to do and close to downtown)
Hope this helps. Good Luck.

You might look into the Schiller Park area. There are some nice areas near the expressway. Rosemont is also okay, but I don't think there are as many apartments. How about the northwest side of Chicago, near Cumberland north of Irving Park?
Just as a note, everyone I know who lives near the airport has to learn to adjust to the noise.
