Anyone stayed recently at The Sheraton Maui?
As usual, I booked this months ago, and now after neurotically reading tripadadvisor ( some really bad reviews!) am questioning my choice! Would love to hear from anyone who's stayed there recently. We're leaving in a few weeks! Thanks!

I just quickly scanned through the reviews and I think you are overreacting a bit. There are a few bad reviews, but the majority of them are very favorable. The bad ones seem to be written by people who had unreal expectations, afterall, it is a Sheraton and not a Four Seasons. While I have never stayed there I have spent time on the grounds and at the beachfront. It is a very nice resort hotel in a fantastic location on Kaanapali Beach. Have a great trip.

Hi
We stayed there for 6 nights exactly 2 years ago (not really that recent)and we loved it! We had stayed at the Westin previously and we liked the Sheraton much more. The grounds/pool area were very nice and everything was clean. Also, our room in Building 6 was great - had a fridge and a huge bathroom with granite countertops. I wouldn't worry. If for some reason you get a "bad" room then go back to the front desk and ask for a better one!

Weadles - please give us a quick review when you get back. I am trying to decide where to stay and the Sheraton is on my list. I usually read reviews on TripAdvisor, but don't really believe some of them. I would much rather hear the opinion of a Fodorite.

The problem with TA is that there are people with little or no expectations reviewing mediocre hotels and giving them rave reviews. Then there are people who stay at high end hotels who have high expectations and give really nice hotels mediocre reviews. The Sheraton is a really nice place in a wonderful location.
