My niece, a college junior, has a summer internship at Owens Corning in Rockford. She’s looking for a safe place to live for 10 weeks. My sister has been asking around and repeatedly been told that there are no “safe” areas. Owens Corning sent a list of some apartment buildings but online reviews of them are frightening, eg doors kicked in by drug dealers. Unfortunately she’s the only summer intern so there’s very little corporate support. Anyone live in Rockford and have suggestions?
