Anyone been to Jenny Lake Lodge in Grand Teton Ntl. Park?
My husband and I are thinking of visiting the Grand Teton National Park in July, and we want to stay at a nice place in a great location. The Jenny Lake Lodge comes to mind. It is expensive, and I would love to know in advance from those who have been there if it's worth it. How are the cabins, service, location and food? Any other tips about visiting this area are welcome also. Thanks!

We didn't stay but did have a wonderful meal at Jenny Lake Lodge five years ago. The site is beautiful and is conveniently located in the Grand Tetons. I believe it's right on Jenny Lake and is a beautiful, beautiful site. You'll love the Tetons, one of nature's most magnificent creations!
(Note that five years, Jenny Lake Lodge required jackets for men at dinnertime.)
As for things to do, certainly hiking around the Jenny Lake area is a must. And, you might want to take one of the wildlife expeditions offered by theGreat Plains Wildlife Institute in Jackson Hole. We had a great time searching out a variety of species. You can get more info at 307-733-2623, or write the institute at PO Box 7580, Jackson Hole, WY 83001.
And, of course, there's the adjacent Yellowstone National Park, easily reachable from Jenny Lake Lodge, if you don't want to change hotels.
Have fun. It's a great area!

We camped at Jenny Lake and did not know there was a lodge. Is it on Jenny lake? The lake is a great base for the Teton portion of your trip. Close enough for a quick trip into Jackson. Perfect for rolling out of bed onto great hiking trails. Great for a dusk drive on the highway to watch for wildlife.

My family lives in Jackson and we often go to Jenny Lake Lodge for Sunday Brunch, which is amazing - even the President has eaten there. Dinner is also good. The cabins are nice and lots of people rave about them. One thing about the Lodge is that it is on its own road and a bit isolate (which, I think, is part of the luxury of the hotel). If you want to be closer to the hubbub of the park, try Jackson Lake Lodge or Yellowstone Lake Lodge or Old Faithful, both of which are in Yellowstone.
