I have a family memner who travels to NYC on a regular basis and she is a real foodie. Gramercy Tavern is the resto that always comes up as being excellent in our discussions FYI.

I'd never say the front room at Grammercy Tavern is "just as good" as the main room. It is a bargain comparitively speaking yes, and it is excellent food. But I'll bet nobody would be happy if they charged them the main room prices for the smaller tables and the lesser menu of the bar room!!
