It looks like Blacktie was using your reference to cicadas agianst you. Some cicadas have red eyes. I believe the shot was that your buzzing with no actual purpose is far greater than any other.

Anyway, I think I might have the rest of you beat when it comes to Tacky Tourist Sightings. I'm going to the Indy 500! You don't know ticky tacky 'til you've done the 500. And guess what? It's loads of fun! (I might even dig out my pricey Dolce & Gabbana teeshirt that has "Lucky" emblazoned arcross the chest...hey, you said it above: money doesn't equal class and I have the shirt to prove it!)

No tacky tourist sightings here, just plenty of tacky fodorites.

I believe the only person I actually made fun of was my cousin when I started the post. I did however, immediately point out to him what a tacky tourist he looked like.

Unless you're vacationing in Alaska, then yes, legwarmers will probably put you in peril from the fashion police. Unless, of course, you look like Jennifer Beal or is it Beals? Can't remember.

I was referring to several threads regarding the WTC site, not just the most recent one. And yes, the replies given were rude and offensive to me and to the posters asking the questions, as they clearly expressed.

It is not you specifically that I have a problem with and I have read several other replies you have written that were intelligent and kind.

Having just returned from San Diego and Rosarito, we saw too much to document, but despite having "looked at" several lovely homes in the $400.K -$700K range in Rosarito, the town is very tacky!
Worse, at 0915 Sunday morning at Hash Haus in San Diego, we were subjected to a goof who wore black leather "chaps" with his naked butt exposed while waiting for breakfast seating. I thought the woman next to me was going to die when she turned to look at the hostess and got way up close and a bit too personal!
