Any Experiences at the Luxor???
My wife and I have reservations to stay at the Luxor in a few days. Has anyone stayed there? Do I want the tower or Pyramid? Also, any good suggestions on restaurants or things to avoid wasting our time would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

I really liked the Luxor. We stayed in the Pyramid in a suite with a Jacuzzi tub and small living room. The Jacuzzi was next to the slanted windows (they are part of the pyramid of course). No one can see in which sort of gave you the feeling of being an exhibitionist without being seen. The bathroom was extremely large but only had a shower. If you can afford the upgrade to a suite, I would highly recommend it. If not, ask for a pyramid room. My friends had a regular hotel room in the towers – nothing unique at all.
Room service was very fast and the food was very good. The pool area is very nice. Don't eat anywhere at the Excalibur!

Ellie is right, the suites are nice in the pyramid. If you are staying in one of the regular rooms your best bet is the tower. The rooms in the tower are bigger, and some have a nice view of the stip.
The Luxor itself is a fun place. The building is beautiful. The buffet is good.
The hotel/casino is in a pretty good location on the strip. You have the MGM not too far away, Mandalay Bay is right next door (they have some really nice restaurants) and NY-NY isn't too far either.
If you want to see the rest of the stip, plan on driving. Luxor is at the Southern end of the stip.
If you need any more help, drop me a line.

We stayed there last week in the West Tower, many restaurants in the place itself, I liked the Pyramid cafe also Pharoah's Pheast was phairly phine too.
Despite not being a fan of Las Vegas if I went back I would stay at the Luxor again. Make sure you get your car valet parked (for free), its much easier.

We stayed at the Luxor the end of Octobe and loved the place.. The Luxor is bright and BEAUTIFUL!!! The people are very friendly. We would defintely stay there again!!! We had a room in the West Towers, (heard they were better) and the room was really nice... Our room had a shower and tub, nice size bathrooms... The elevators were quick (never any wait) The buffet was good, and so was the deli.. They give out huge portions of food... They have a moving monorail to the Excaliber or Mandaley Bay hotel. We also used the cab, bus, and walked...Also close to New York, New York hotel.
You'll have a ball!!
Have fun

Hi. Just got back from 4 nights at the Luxor - Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. I had never been to Las Vegas and had no idea what to expect from a hotel there. We stayed on the "ground" floor in the West Tower and had an option to move up to a higher floor but decided that we liked our room just where it was. It was very quiet and perfect for us. Plus no elevators to wait for. I thought the lobby was very beautiful. The casino however I found smoky compared to some other hotels ... but I guess at some point in the evening they all get a bit smoky.
I also sat "poolside" quite a bit and enjoyed myself immensely. They play music over speakers on the pool deck so if you can't stand music you won't like it. I liked it. I didn't swim though, I just read and people-watched (very good people-watching I must say).
We ate at "Spago" in the Forum Shops Mall at Caesar's Palace. It was good but expensive. McCormick and Schmicks's was very good I thought. We also tried Francesco's at the Treasure Island Hotel. It was expensive also and a bit pretentious. The food was good though.
Saw the show "Mystere" at Treasure Island HOtel. Excellent. Even my boyfriend who can't stand "spectaculars" was totallly impressed.
That's my first trip to Vegas in a nutshell. I think I'll go back.
