Antiques

I am planning a trip to Florida. Could someone tell me where is the best place to go to see Antiques? (markets, stores, etc.)

You may want to repost with FLORIDA in the header. All posts end up on the US message board and countless people who can't help you will look to see which area you're talking about. Good luck!

I hear Florida is full of antiques who don't know how to operate voting machines. Thanks a lot.

You know, this forum is a joke. Whenever I ask simple questions regarding my travelling you always get someone sending a smart answer. No more!!!

Awe, Toby. It was just a little joke. I smiled, anyway.

Post again with a more descriptive header, and someone will have some great info.

C-ya.

Geez, Toby, what will you do when bartering for better prices on antiques if you're going to have THAT kind of attitude, hmmm?

"Look, all I did was ask how much it was, not the history of the darned... what did you call it... 'Ming Dynasty' thang!"

Nice people gave nice suggestions for better re-posting under a better headline... now you better watch out for better remarks from better folks with better tongues.

Hey, I'm a doctor so I'm self-employed. The only boss I have to answer is the insurance industry!

I didn't spend 6 years going to Bitterpants Medical School to be called "Mister," thankyouverymuch.

Oh, and thanks for continuing the abuse upon yourself. I take it you are unemployed to be able to stay on the fodors site all day, huh?

REPOST your friggin' question with a better headline, instead of rechecking this bull and insulting those who will REFUSE to answer you.

And I prefer to be a "Hi-Ho" than a "Ding dong."

Smoochie smoochie smoo!

What kind of a doctor are you anyway Dr. Bitterpants that has time to post all day on an internet site. Most doctors I know are too damn busy seeing patients, dealing with insurance companies etc. than to sit all day posting stupid advice.

By the way, have you traveled anywhere? I have yet to see you post any advice that is relevant.

IMO, you are a pompous ass with nothing better to do than be obnoxious.

Toby-I know there is a big flea market in Pompano Beach my collector pals frequent. You might want to do a search on the Fla-usa site, maybe you could turn up some more info.

Do you get large flea markets from Big Dog Supermarkets? Oops. Appears a sense of humor is now a crime on Fodors?

Geez, Jill, I'm upset you don't remember me and my operating skills. I'm the one who removed your sense of humor!

As you seem to be wasting your days trolling thru sites and this is the best advice you've decided to leave, you're one swell gal. But if you carefully read through other headings and posts, you will see that I post some very meaningful advice to areas I travel: once a month I attend conventions in the typical large cities catering convention crowds, and my wife and my vacations are mostly hiking in western states and national parks.

And yes, I have some fun, too. But when I find an ill-informed sort or some abusive sort I'll sort 'em out.

I forgive you for calling me pompous and obnoxious. Kiss and make up?

Sorry to skip the snide, but we found a lot of antique shops with interesting inventory in Mt. Dora, FL. Cute town, too.

Hi Toby, Its been afew years since I have been to Florida, but on my last trip to visit an elderly aunt, I noticed quite a few Goodwill Stores and Salvation Army used furniture and clothing stores. They seemed to be full of great furniture. My aunt told me since lots of "elderly People" move to Fla. to retire and then pass away, their families(from up north) usually don't want the furniture or won't haul it back home. It gets donated to these stores. This was in the Ft. Pierce/Port St. lucie area, check out some of them when you are down there, can't hurt..
