Antelope Canyon visit in August - best time

Hi,
We are planning on visiting Page for one night in August and I just learned that you can pre-schedule a hold time for an Antelope Canyon tour at:http://navajotours.com/schedule/

In looking at the available times on the days we will be there they are 8:45, 10:00, 2:00, 2:45 and 4pm. I know mid-day is what is recommened but based on those times, does anyone have a suggestion as to which would be next best time. Should I keep checking this site for opening like lodging?

Thanks for your help

I suggest a morning tour as August is monsoon season in the southwest. Rain is more likely as the day progresses with danger of flash floods and increased possibility of cancellation of later tours.

10:00 would probably be the best time of the ones you give, 11:00 would be better. The higher the sun, the better the colors.

Thanks - I booked the 10AM and will keep checking to see if a mid-day time opens up.

Is that the only tour outfitter you've checked? If so, you might want to visit the websites of the other 3 outfitters to see if they have availability. Granted, they depart out of Page, Arizona instead of the Tribal Park entrance on the highway, but your tour price would be the same.

Scroll down to the list of "Upper Antelope Canyon" outfitters if you want to try that ->: http://antelopecanyon.az/how-to-book...telope-canyon/

Do keep in mind the possibility of inclement weather at that time of year (monsoon season). If your guide tells you the canyon is unsafe, believe it. Better safe than sorry!
