Anchorsge Hotel near Rail

Does anyone know of a decent hotel near the rail station, or are there shuttles at most hotels? Thanks!

There's a Comfort Inn right by the rail station. Or, the Hilton and Holiday Inn are just a few blocks/short cab ride.

We stayed at that particular Comfort Inn, and it's quite nice.

Any hotel in downtown Anchorage is within 5 minutes by cab to the rail station. I always recommened and stay at the Hotel Captain Cook in downtown. Its an Anchorage landmark, and NOT a chain hotel, it is by far the best hotel in Anchorage. www.captaincook.com

Have you considered a B & B? Some are close and provide a shuttle to/from the rail station. Try Big Bear Bed & Breakfast. Website states: Transportation provided to & from train depot, tour bus & cruise ship connections.

Very nice accommodations and delicious breakfasts. Carol is a great lady whose husband was killed in auto accident during timeframe we were planning our trip--she still went out of her way to help us. What a gal!

Good luck with your planning!
