I want to second the idea of the Winner Creek Trail and the hand tram across the creek. We were a little pressed for time so we started on the Crow Creek Mine side. We had been to the mine so left our car there and used the entrance near the mine parking lot. But there is a parking area on the road to the mine. The hike to the creek is about 20 min from this side. The tram is really cool - but you do need some strength to do it. Apparently two elderly ladies were stranded for a bit.

you are a fool not to go on the 8 hour cruise...i live in alaska and never get tired of it!

patricia4404, the trip was August 13-19 last year, so I think they are back home now.
