Amelia Island FL
Looking to spend 3 nights at a beachfront hotel later this month. Amelia Island looks beautiful, but we can't afford the Ritz or Plantation. Can anyone give me information about the Beachside Motel on S. Fletcher Ave. or Best Western on Sadler Rd? We want clean rooms, pool, and beachfront.
Any info appreciated! Thanks!

We stayed one night at the Hampton Inn in Fernandina Beach last spring.
It is nice, clean and has a nice pool, right downtown where all the shops and restaurants are.
It is not exactly beach front, being on the waterfront but where the dock is, but the beaches are not far away.
This is a nice alternative (IMO) to the much more expensive Plantation and Ritz.
When you get there, do make a day trip over the bridge to Big Talbot Island .. it is worth at least a day and then on the Kingsley Plantation.
Have fun~

Thank you tcapp & Scarlett! I knew from an earlier post that you liked the Hampton, Scarlett. It appears to be close to the beach, so we may consider it. It's also close to Brett's Waterway (a favorite restaurant of tcapp). The kids would love Big Talbot Island--I hadn't come across that yet. I've read so many posts and reviews on beaches from the southern coast of Georgia to Daytona, that I'm going crazy! Amelia got my attention because of the reference "shoppers paradise", but we won't tell my DH!

Totally agree with the recommendation of the Hampton Inn and Suites. We have stayed there and it was a great location. Even preferred the location to our stay at the Ritz Carlton which was a great hotel but not near the town and shops. You won't be unhappy at the Hampton Inn & Suites. Have fun!! Yes, it is very close to Brett's too.

Thanks, Cali. How many blocks is it from the Hampton Inn & Suites to the east side island beaches? I know, we're awfully worried about the beach! But understand, we're from the midwest and the beach is like another world to us. Can't wait!
