Colin & Christie deserve each other, they are both miserable people. I think, if they lose, they will see the whole competition as a waste of time. I see the other 3, but especially Chip & Kim, taking home so much more from the experience - win or lose. But I hope Chip & Kim win the most, they seem like such happy people. As they were racing to the yield, Chip should've slowed up since they all agreed to yield C & C. I just cannot wait til the finale!
|
I think you're right, jlaughs. I remember a few shows back that Chip and Kim were talking about cultivating a friendship with Colin & Christie in order to lull them into a false sense of security. They said they were going to "stroke his ego" in hopes that he would get so confident that he would make a mistake. I'm a little surprised that everyone thinks Chip & Kim are so "nice". The other teams were all at the Yield ahead of C&C and they unanimously agreed to yield C&C. Chip & Kim could have let one of the other teams put their picture on the board but Chip & Kim wanted C&C to know that they were the ones to Yield them. Personally, I don't think Chip and Kim are any nicer than any of the other teams (except maybe C&C); they're all prepared to do whatever it takes to win the million dollars.

YOu all forgot to mention one thing....Colic and Christie now have no money!!! Hooray!
Should be a HOOT next week watching their version of begging-in-the-street, which will probably be Colic running up to people and saying "give me some money you morons! NOW! " |
Chip & Kim's worst problem is his hesitation. He's given a lot of teams a break, more than once. He would have been smart if he let Brandon & Nicole or the Bowling Moms yield Colin & Christie since they all pretty much go there at the same time. Colin & Christie would have been mad no matter who used the yield so better to have them want vengence on another team than Chip & Kim.

You got it, lenleigh. Who wants to risk the wrath of Colin!
|
I'm like the rest of you...I was worn out after last night's show. Colin is abusive, please don't say Christie deserves it..she is reacting to his wrath. Hopefully, after this she will find one who treats her properly and she will also begin to act as she should.
I've not been a fan of the bowling moms since beginning, but am liking them more and more. Brandon and Nicole were boring in the past, but having watched some of the clips on The Insider, I find them pretty amusing. She was dieing laughing saying he was screaming like a girl! Still rooting for Chip and Kim. Just like his personality. Isn't it amazing how many hits this thread gets when Fodors leaves it alone and just lets us talk? |
All I have to say is "what a hoot" last night's show was! I think I'll save the tape in the "best of" archives... laughed my butt off! :D
I also let out a big "aaaaauuuugggghhhhhhhhh!" when C&C weren't booted. DARN! ... so the saga continues. |
So close, so close, and yet...THEY"RE STILL HERE! Aaaaaauuugh! After last night's episode I do believe Colin and Christie deserve each other.
But since each team only gets to use one yield in the whole race, I am a bit concerned that Chip & Kim may have blown it by using their yield on Colin & Christie. Either of the other two teams would have yielded them, so it would have been a lot smarter to let somebody else do the dirty work, incur Colin's wrath, and save your yield for the final round where it might win you the race. |
Hi Just finished reading the great posts of AR. can someone tell me how long this program hase been on Tv. Last season I accidently came upon it near the end of the series, because I rarely watch network ch., Now I am hooked on the show, and near the end of each show I literally can not sit down, and my heart is pounding cheering for Chip and Kim. I will miss them all after next week.
|
This is the 5th Amazing Race...starting on Oct 2nd (Saturday night) the 6th Amazing Race will begin.
|
I've enjoyed this show a lot -- I hope Kim and Chip win -- they seem to really LIKE and support each other. They've been together a long time. C&C and B&N haven't spent a life together yet. The Moms are great sports, so I wouldn't be upset if they won.
|
.....and I'm so glad this thread survived! I'm with you all, I was surprised at how shocked & appalled Colin & Christie were at being yielded. Hello??
I feel like Colin is the big brat, and maybe Christie's behavior last night was Colin rubbing off or something. I wonder what happened to their relationship after the show? Speaking of...one of my coworkers saw Brandon here in Honolulu recently. |
Melissa, did Brandon look like he'd won a million dollars? (I hope not.)
|
I couldn't believe that Colin & Christie didn't get eliminated. I am really disappointed they are still in the game. It was pretty funny though with the ox wandering out of the field and Colin saying his ox was broken. And Christie just stood there and yelled. I have felt for Christie taking Colin's abuse but she did show a different side in this show. I still hope she had the sense to get rid of him after the show.
I still am rooting for C&K,(as someone said they support each other and have been together a long time). They also seem to really appreciate the places they have visited. Although at times the bowling Moms can be annoying, I have been impressed by how they have hung in there. B&N have turned out not to be so bad either. Although I would like C&K to win, I would be happy with any of the winners as long as it isn't Colin and Christie! |
hmmm, she didn't say. all she could say was that he looked all of 18 years old, and he walked in with a big group including ousted UH President Evan Dobelle.
|
Don't forget that while we had heard all three teams say they were going to Yield Colin & Christie, they didn't know that was what the others would do. And if the first team had passed their opportunity, the others might have done the same thing.
Also it would have made sense to Yield one of the other two teams at the Yield, since they wera all so close. Letting the another team get to the Yield ahead of them, wouldn't have been wise. Starting a leg with no money doesn't seem to hurt very much, at least it hasn't the first three times. In fact the teams with money might be wise to beg a little when the opportunity presents itself. The extra money could make the difference of winning...not that I think I could bring myself to do it. Keith |
I agree, Keith. Chip had to do the Yield himself... WHAT IF he tried to be clever and let someone else take the wrath, but then one of those two teams used it on HIM? Kim would have killed him!!! :) I think he just realized he had to play "hard," and took a step in that direction.
|
Yep. Chip knew he had to step up and play "hard". I wonder, though, since they had discussed the yield with each other while zipping down the highway, if it wouldn't have been better to let B&N use the yield so that C&K could use it next time?
You get the hint that it will be a non-elimination when a racer (I think it was Brandon this week) reads the clue that says the team that comes in last "may be eliminated". hugglyn: with your six daily meals you will be the featured star next season...submit your application! |
My boyfriend really wants us to apply for an AR, but I just KNOW that we would be the couple that all of you would be talking about and hating. :-) We can't even take a weekend trip without getting into at least one argument (I know, why are we together?). Can you imagine around the world in a race?
As much as I would LOVE to have all the experiences (even the scary challenges) and travel all over, I don't think I have enough of that "do anything" competitive nature to do well in this race. And, I'd be upset with others who are deceptive. Anyone else ever consider applying? |
re non-elimination - i hate them and have e-mail cbs to tell them to find another way to extend the show. since they announced that there were 4 non-eliminations and you knew they wouldn't do it on the finale, hard to get excited about this episode cause it was basically irrelavent. WRITE CBS.
