I noticed when the Fast Forward first came up last night that the description Phil gave mentioned it would appear only twice in the entire race. Also, I believe I saw Fast Forward envelopes in the hands of other contestants when they opened the envelope at the top of the tower. Perhaps no one else seriously considered using it, so any discussion of it was edited out.

I think the rule about buying airline tickets only once is followed sometimes but not all times. I've never heard a contestant read that rule from the instructions since then, and certainly new viewers would need this info if it was a rule.

Question from a newbie that is hooked on the Amazing race. I always miss the first couple of minutes b/c of work but how do the times of when a team ends a leg at the PITSTOP effect the start of the subsequent leg?

Thanks

They take off 12 hours after arriving at the pit stop, so the first team in is the first out the next morning. Looks like C&C will have a very good lead (6 hours or more?) on the others in the next leg, though ailrine schedules and site opening hours have a way of letting others catch up.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Colin? I got p.o.'d at him when Christine was trying to get 2 POUNDS of caviar down without gagging. He was not hiding his irritation very well when she was having trouble. Okay, buddy--let see how fast you could chug down 2 pounds of fish eggs. And what was it about all the men but Chip letting their better halves endure that roadblock?

Chip and Kim and the cousins are my favorite and I hope they make it to the end. Chip is truly a gentleman. The way he treats Kim is a habit and not an act. If someone calls "Mirna" "Schmirna" one more time I'm going to lunge at my television. The others cannot stand that these two women (one they consider handicapped) are beating them fair and square.

Off the personalities for a moment.... Was I the only one really trying to get a look at the paintings at the Hermitage?

I was trying to look at the paintings too, but we weren't racing! Chip and Kim, and the cousins are also my favorites. I think the cousins are getting a bad rap. They are smart and are good at outsmarting other teams. The twins are hopeless, IMO. They totally disregarded the puzzle! The producers of the show are not going to put something in the bag that has no purpose! They would be in last place, if Chip hadn't been so nice.

I have a beef with CBS - why is this on at 10:00 at night! With all the junk that is on TV, why is this great show, a show that is perfect for a whole family to watch, on so late? It disappoints me.

We have early prime time so it's on earlier here in the sacto area. Have you noticed the rating? My daughter, who loves the AR, noticed with horror that it's rated TV 14. She's afraid I'll pull her viewing!

In my comment about the paintings I was only referring to the TV viewers not the teams. I assumed they wouldn't be interested in taking a bunch of time to ooohhhh and aaahhhh.

Jayne11159--you are not alone! There is something sinister about Colin--he gives me the creeps >

Suzie--you are not alone, either! The paintings, sadley, were a blurr as was the incredible architecture of the Hermitage....oh, to look and linger!

Charla & Mirna rock!! I love both the cousins, don't see why the others teams don't like them. Calling them "sneaky"...well that's what I call being smart. If they keep using their smarts & their sheer will to have a good time & not give up...they just may win. If not, I'm hoping for Chip & Kim.
Don't like Colin & Christy, Nicole & Brandon & HATE the pizza brothers.

No team was eliminated, it was the 1st of four non-elimination legs. The bowling moms came in last, but got lucky! They'll need all the luck they can get, cause Phil took all their money & they won't get any new money on the next leg of the race.

Thanks, Isabellasu!

I just went on cbs.com and spent a little while viewing the streaming video and reading the synopsis. BTW, they repeat the episode at 8pm on Saturadays.

Jayne: Noooo!! You're not the only one! There's something about Colin that bugs me. I haven't figured out what yet. I told my husband that despite me not liking him, I did notice that he's very polite to whom he encounters. I don't think it's genuine though, but more like he knows that it's the best way to get help (calculating?).

Jayne: It wasn't about the men letting the ladies "endure" the two pounds of caviar (which looked bigger with every shot). They didn't know what the task was whne they got there. The clue said something about living the good life. And since there was no reference to a hard labor task, they probably all thought it would be a good one for the ladies to accomplish. If they could have switched once it started, I am sure they would have.
I agree, 10pm is too late. It was never this late in the past.
We only see what the editors want us to see, so who knows, the twins might not be so stupid, the brothers might not be so nasty, etc.
Whatever, its the best travel show, make that show, on television.

flypet, I believe they knew exactly what the task was before they chose which one would do it. The "living the good life" was what they were told when they arrived, but they knew what was happening before they decided.

Same with the climb down the stairs this week.

I believe they know the task ahead of time, but just hadn't realized how much caviar.

I've liked Chip and Kim since I saw them watching out the side windows in Uruguay with smiles on their faces. I'm pulling for them now that I see them helping others without needing an arrangement. I like Charla too, but just can't help it, I couldn't be around Myrna for more than 10 seconds. She's aggressive one minute and whining the next. Charla is pulling her along. The brothers though... goes without saying.

But what a view of the Pyramids and the Hermitage. 2 places on my list moved up!

Clifton, I totally agree with you about Charla. She really is terrific. Her cousin, though, is, well, you said that too!

I think Colin and Christine are the smartest and they should be leaving almost 12 hrs ahead of Charla and Mirna, shouldn't they?

The Hermitage, and Russia in general are now on the list of places I'd like to see in my lifetime (Egypt has been on that list for a while)

Charla has said several times that she wanted to prove to the world she can do anything and she really has! An inspiration to all

The pizza brothers sux. Followed by the religious duo. Since they don't fool around I think the guy is gay and just kidding himself, lol just kidding

carib, that's too bad, but isn't that what makes us watch? You never know just what will happen, and I'm sure the show wouldn't let one team stay 12hrs ahead. They'd have to come up with some type of equalizer.
