I'm jealous too - with my measly 10 days of vacation a year. With my previous company I got 20 days of vacation which was nice.

Let's all agree to be "crazy' then!
I like what Wednesday said-even a short trip to the beach-any thing that breaks routine, is met with a spirit of adventure and a mind to explore can be a vacation. We do 2-week longs, a mix of 2-3 days, and the super mini's which are 1 day-such as a Giants baseball game
or a day at SFMOMA. We are very lucky to be able to enjoy the Sonoma Coast and Pt. Reyes, oh, yes and
the wineries
Yet we have friends who just don't get up and go and enjoy the same environment. They see us as always gone
somewhere-so perhaps much of it is
how you view the proverbial glass!

Only 20?

We even quit dropping some friends post cards because they thought we were rubbing it in.

Others have told us they don't "get" what we "get" out of traveling so much.
Thank goodness we don't all like the same things...imagine how long the lines would be?

The 1-4 day trips are what keep me sane (relatively speaking )

Fortunately living in CA there is almost an endless supply of places to take these short trips.

J'cor,
God Bless Northern California and short mini-trips/vacations!

We've even been known to do a "Priceline Sacramento" night.
Usually get the Hyatt or Sheraton Grand for $40-50 and then either walk or cab it to dinner and then hit a club.
Beats a DUI and it's still a lot of fun to howl at the moon from time to time.

We've done the Priceline Sac nights too. I like to drive up through the delta from the bay area. It's nice and relaxing.

Last week a friend was visiting from back east. I took a day off from work to spend the day wandering around with her. We ended up at Point Reyes. That morning I told my husband I thought we might go up to SF. My friend and I drove that direction, but just kept going. We stoped at a grocery in Olema, got a picnic lunch and just wandered around the seashore, poked around in a couple little towns and then headed home. It was a glorious day - a little cold, but crystal clear.

Nothing like little trips to clear the cobwebs from your mind.

We are actually leaving tomorrow for a 5 day trip down the coast to Ventura and Morro Bay.

Weird? Heck no! I think all of us travelaholics are the sane ones... everyone else is just nuts!

Wish i could take 20 trips/year. I'm only up to 2 this year and I'm at the point of ultimate frustration... money has been tighter for us lately, yet these unbelievable travel deals keep popping up. Aaarrggh!! Anyone want to donate to my travel fund?

I think travelon is posting this to get attention and to feed its ego. Obviously everyone is doing a good job. I don't envy you, I enjoy my life and don't care how many vacations you go on a year.
