albuqueruqe - casas de suenos or BW Rio Grande

We have the last two days of our October trip to spend in Albuquerque. Does anyone have experience with Casas de Suenos or the Best Western Rio Grande? Both are in the same price range and close to Old Town. Since the rest of our vacation is going to be spent on the go, I am looking for a day or two of R & R in a nice place. These look about right for atmosphere that fits our budget - any thoughts or suggestions??

I am not sure what Casa de Suenos is like, but the area is a bit sketchy. It is close to old town but it is also close to Central...which isn't the best in that area.

The Best Western isn't the best either.

I don't know what's left in your budget after everything else..but I would recommend this

http://www.lospoblanos.com/

It is in a really nice area and yet not far from Old Town.

Have you looked at the Hotel Albuquerque? It's right next to Old Town.

I prefer to pay no more than $150/night - nice place, easy access to nice restuarants, attractions, etc. Suggestions are welcome!!!

I think Los Poblanos will be about that rate and is in a lovely area, close to things but far enough away from the somewhat sketchy part of town.

Casa de Suenos is a small B and B South of Central near the Albuquerque Little Theatre and Old Albuquerque Country club. It is a couple of blocks from Old Town. It is also close to all three parts of the Albuquerque Bio Park ( Rio Grande Zoo, Albuq Aquarium, Albuq Botanic) I'd has had a good reputation over the years.

Los Poblanos a B & B several miles of north Old town. It also has a fine reputation. It is close to the Casa Rodena Winery. The winery is a stunning property and worth an afternoon visit.
